What is EN 13037?

European standard for pH determination in growing media and soil improvers. Specifies the 1:5 volume extraction method: one volume of substrate is shaken in five volumes of deionized water, then pH is measured in the resulting extract. EN 13037 is the reference method for pH in European substrate trade and is also adopted in Brazil.
