What is FOB (free on board)?

International trade pricing term (Incoterm) where the seller covers all costs and risk until goods are loaded on the vessel at the named port of shipment. The buyer pays freight and insurance. FOB pricing allows buyers to negotiate their own shipping rates. For Brazilian coir, the typical FOB port is Pecem (Ceara).
