What is a coir slab?

Flat rectangular block of compressed coir for use in hydroponic growing systems. Slabs are placed in gutters or channels and irrigated with nutrient solution. Typical dimensions: 100 × 15 × 7 cm or 100 × 20 × 7.5 cm. Compression ratio for slabs is typically 4:1. The slab format allows uniform root distribution and consistent drainage across the growing bed.
