01 · What mattress coir fibre is.
In the coir trade, mattress fibre is brown fibre that is not combed into bristle: shorter and softer strands used for mattress cores, needle-punched pads and rubberised coir. Mixed fibre is the same raw fibre left unsorted by length. Sri Lanka's Coconut Development Authority publishes separate prices for bristle, mattress, mix and twisted fibre, which shows how the trade splits the grades.[1][2]

02 · Where mattress-type fibre goes.
- Needle-punched coir pads and felts: the fibre is opened, carded into a web and needled into pads for mattress and upholstery layers. See Coir fibre for needle-punch mattress pads.
- Rubberised coir: the converter twists the fibre into rope, lets it set to give curl, opens it and bonds it with latex into sheets and mattress cores.

Export bales of 100–130 kg are floor-loaded in a 40' high-cube container at Pecém, with the bale count and weights on the packing list and a QR code on every bale. Is Carve fibre the same as bristle fibre?
No. Bristle fibre is the longest fraction, combed and sorted by length for brushes and brooms. Carve supplies mixed brown fibre of the mattress type: 10 to 40 cm, loose and not combed.
Do you supply curled or twisted coir rope?
No. Carve ships loose baled fibre. Converters that make rubberised coir twist the fibre into rope to give it curl, then open and latex-bond it on their own lines.
Which grade do mattress and pad makers use?
The Natural grade. Salt content does not matter in a pad or a mattress core; washing adds cost without a benefit for this use.
What bale size do you ship?
Export bales of 100 to 130 kg, floor-loaded in a 40' HC. The full bale specification and the net tonnes per container are confirmed before the quotation.
